Follow the Prophet’s example in every sphere of life: Maulana Abdul Halim

Mymensingh Bureau: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim has called upon people to follow the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in every sphere of life, saying that adherence to the Prophet’s Sunnah is essential for those seeking closeness to Allah.

“From offering prayers to sitting at the dining table, we should conduct ourselves in accordance with the way shown by the Prophet (PBUH),” he said.

Maulana Halim made the remarks while addressing a Seerat Mahfil and prize-giving ceremony organised by Mymensingh city Jamaat-e-Islami at the Mymensingh District Council auditorium on Saturday afternoon, marking Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).

He said merely observing some religious practices is not enough to claim complete adherence to the Prophet’s teachings.

“Without striving in the way of Allah, working for the establishment of Islam and making sacrifices, complete following of the Prophet (PBUH) cannot be achieved,” he said.

The Jamaat leader also stressed the importance of teaching children the Sunnah of the Prophet from an early age.

The programme was chaired by Mymensingh city Jamaat Ameer Maulana Kamrul Ahsan Emrul and conducted by its secretary Shahidullah Qaiser.

Central Working Committee member Md Manzurul Islam Bhuiyan addressed the event as a special guest.

Among others, Allama Abdul Momen Naserie, Pir Saheb of Mirsarai; noted Quran commentator Maulana Md Nasir Uddin Helali; Mymensingh city Jamaat Naib-e-Ameer Asaduzzaman Sohel; and district Jamaat secretary Maulana Mozammel Haque Akand also spoke at the programme.

The event also featured a prize-giving ceremony for the winners of a book-reading competition organised to mark Seerat-un-Nabi.

Earlier, a 100-mark examination was held on a designated Seerat book. Members of the organisation, known as Rukn, from across the Mymensingh city unit took part in the examination.
